How hard is it to replace the SIDE COVER - 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE (881604Z010NBC) The current piece broke at the front next to where it bolts into the seat. The dealership wants to charge $270 to fix it. I see the part costs around $30 I am not sure how to take the broken one off, I see I can quickly remove the connectors but not sure after that. Anybody have any experience with this. This is the plastic trim piece that is on the left side of the drivers seat, at the bottom of the seat. any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I have a 2013 and I had a seat trim issue on the bottom front of the passenger seat. The seat trim kept coming off and I complained about it every time I took it in for service. They kept putting the seat trim on and it kept falling off as people sat in the seat. It took well over a year for the dealer to replace something to get the repair done right.

I started having the problem in 2014 so my car was still under full warranty when I first complained about it and the dealer had the record of my complaints that started under warranty so I got my repair done for no charge to me. I know that Hyundai has different warranty periods for things so this may not apply to you but you should push the dealer to make sure that your issue is not covered by warranty.

Darren, 5yr / 60,000 mile if you a USA owner (dont see location in box below username ddecoste)

Might want to edit in your "2013 Santa Fe with which engine" into your "DRIVES" so we can see that also..

Customer pay ??

Easiest to remove seat from cabin to a table top so you can roll seat over / around to see what you need to get at..

Thank you for your help.

This is a USA Santa Fe. Thank you for the information. I guess I did not realize it was 5 years, 60K warranty. We are at 56K so I will call them tmrw. If not I found 2 of the clips. It is broken in the front next to the bolt. I was able to take off the 1st piece. Then I found the one clip at the back but not the other one. I think I have to go under the seat to get to that one, but I think it is broken.

It is a bugger to get the clips off. This will be the last Hyundai I buy. I have also had issues with the cover in the center console above the lighter and the USB plugs falling out. I will ask about this as well.

I will let you know.

Thank you for all the help.

Seat trim repair - Oct 2016

Over July 2016 (at 34,500 miles) I called my dealer where I bough the car and stated my wife's 2014 SFS 2.0T had the seat trim break. It would catch her leg at times and scratch it on either side as both broke (only on hers, my 2014 SFS had no problem). They said I had to bring it over, no problem went a few days later. Manager looked and in 15 min said he'll order the parts. Should be in a few days, we'll call you. Two weeks later we call. Out of stock. We'll call. Summer trips and fun turned into Sept, then Oct. I called. They answered as "Rt 46 Hundai", what happen to "Hacketstown Hyundai" ? Oh we changed owners... nice. So I told the story again, they were going to get back to me (customer service)... three days later I call, they will check and get back to me (parts department). Week later, we drive up there. Same manager and other sales and service people as before, after 15 min, they find one side, 20 min later it was installed. The other side (drivers) will be ordered, it's back ordered. Late October they call and say it's in, go up, ask what mileage is NOW on the car. I said it had 34,500 when the manager made the original order. So, they shuffled some papers and said. OK, under warranty.. free to go !

I guess the 4 new cars we bought from them over the past 8 years counted !

It would be pretty easy to fix with two screws into the plastic arms that are suppose to go into the locking brackets. The locking brackets on one side crack, so they only replace that side.
