Stop Pressing The Alarm Button!!

Seems to happen once a month, without fail. I'll have the keys in my pocket among other things and I somehow set off the alarm. I get an email from Blue Link afterwards but the alarm's already off when I get back to the car.

Does this happen to anyone else? The button doesn't seem to be recessed enough to prevent someone from accidentally pressing.

It happens to me depending on what pocket I put the fob in and what activity I am doing. Not so bad with the standard fob since the range is limited and I can hear when I set it off but I also do it with the remote start fob which has much further range.

People have suggested using a fob cover that has the cutouts for the buttons but while they are easy to find for the standard fob, I've yet to find one for the remote start fob.

They really should have recessed it better, like some remotes I've had. I never set off the alarm for my Impala.

I'll have a look for one of those covers.

I have also had the same problem. Sometimes even my trunk would open! Purchased a universal car remote cover from car and truck remotes.com. A little pricey, but it has helped quite a bit.

Does the button on the fob strap just unsnap or do I have to cut it off?
