Xm Nav Traffic Question

just a question to those of you who got xm when you got your cars. was xm traffic activated when you took your car home? the window sticker says that the car comes with a free 3 month trial but only the radio and sports were activated. when i tried to activate my xm traffic, i was told that i had to pay $3.99 a month and that the car is not even in the list of cars with xm nav. so did the car come with the service? i asked the dealer to look into this but up to now i have not received a response from them. i really don't care too much about it as i didn't even use it that much when i got my other car but we're gonna be doing a lot of traveling in the next couple of week and i want to see if it can be of any use. hope to hear your inputs.

I only had Sprots, Weather and Radio.
Yes, it was/is activated during the first 3 months.

Traffic, Sports, Stocks, and Weather - at least on the Limited/Nav system.

I probably would never really need these, although the Traffic and Weather would seem to be important to someone who travels a lot.

You dealer should set it up for you.

Oh, important - XM Traffic service isn't available everywhere.

XM Radio NavTraffic Market Coverage.
.
All was up and running when we received our car, Should be turning off any day now.
Everything that XM has was running when I got my car....

Do you have to have the Nav package to get XM Traffic?
it should have come free for 3 months if you get the nav.

Looks to me like you do, sailpowerd.

The XM Traffic info is powered by NAVTEQ Traffic and would be displayed on a Nav systems screen.
All activated here. I also have nav.

And I dont find it all that useful. It doesnt describe issues very well. We have tons of construction around me and *shrug*. I personally dont think its all that useful.
tried again to fix this problem and i am THIS close to posting my dealer's name on santa's bad list. after promising me that they would call the "guy in charge of their xm subscriptions" i called today only to have the rep ask me if i called the guy. i would not be recommending this dealership anytime soon, if they cannot spend even a small amount of time and wasting mine trying to fix a problem that they should have taken care off even before i drove the car off the lot. if ever hyundai gives me a follow up call they would be hearing some few choice words from me.

i found out that my subscription to xm navi was never activated all this time. if they really called xm like they claimed they did, they would have known about this. xm was nice enough to give me a 3 month subscription to navitraffic on the house but even after refreshing the radio, i still could not get this dang thing to work. xm technical told me i have to keep my radio on for 30-45 mins after refreshing it but even that did not work. i guess i would have to have this taken care of by ANOTHER hyundai dealership when i bring the car in for service. normally i wouldn't care too much for this as i hardly used it in my other car, but i will be going on a long road trip and i want to have this feature just in case.

as for my dealer, my business and the business of my friends and all the people who stop and ask me about my car are going somewhere else. if they can be cavalier about a small matter like this, i'd rather not trust them with my car if they have to fix something far more expensive than a $3.99 monthly service.
