My 2015 Hyundai Sonata SE did not come with a spare tire nor a donut.

A friend offered to give me the donut tire from his 2005 Nissan Altima S.

Will this Altima donut tire fit on my Sonata?

Information on the offered donut tire:

  • Tire Size: T135/90R16
  • Rim Details (Engraved): NISSAN, K4 C4, 21 E, 16X4T, 8J077

I've attached a picture of the wheel/tire detail.

According to 1010tires.com, this is the information on the bolt pattern for the two cars of interest:

2015 Hyundai Sonata SE:

  • Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3 mm
  • Hub Bore: 67.1
  • Nut or Bolt: nut
  • Nut Bolt Thread Type: M12x1.5
  • Nut Bolt Hex: 21
  • Nut or Bolt Torque: 65 to 80

2005 Nissan Altima S:

  • Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3 mm
  • Hub Bore: 66.1
  • Nut or Bolt: nut
  • Nut Bolt Thread Type: M12x1.25
  • Nut Bolt Hex: 21
  • Nut or Bolt Torque: 83

Please let me know if you have any insight.

It looks like the hub bore is smaller on the Altima. That's the size of the hole in the center. If it's too small it won't fit. Only way to know for certain is to try it.

I doubt you'll get that Altima tire on the hub. The 67mm peg doesn't fit in the 66mm hole. You could get lucky and there could be enough slop in the tempa-spare center bore to hammer it into place. You do want to be sure the wheel fits onto the hub and not just smooshed against it. If the wheel isn't sitting on the hub, the weight of the car is supported by the five lugs - a job they're not intended to do.
