Has anyone received this recall letter about piston oil rings out of tolerance and using too much oil or even damaging cylinder liners.
In the worst case it means a new engine.
Mine is a 2020 Kona and has done 31000km.

Have booked it in for the inspection, I guess they do a cylinder endoscopy ?

Kinda late in the game, USA had that late 21 into 22,, we pretty well done all them inspects early this yr..

They plug into knock sensor wire and use knock sensor as a "microphone" to detect scraping sound of piston rings in cylinder,, uuhh, yea, ok. I dont think we had a NO PASS in our shop, I have heard from others that they have had fails, so short block gets replaced
