In looking up oxygen sensors, I see that this is an option. Is there something in the VIN or maybe another label on the car to designate which one it is? I've done some web browsing and don't see anything to differentiate one from the other.

The vehicle in question here is a 2005 Elantra GLS.

I think I might have figured it out, but I would still like to hear what others have to say.

Perhaps the California vehicles are SULEV and the engine displacement/emissions sticker says that it's compatible with Federal and California standards? That would be my guess as an indicator for SULEV vs ULEV.

I don't have the car in front of me at the moment, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what to look for whenever I get started on it.

I got the owner to send me a text with a picture of the emissions control sticker and it says ULEV, so I think I'm good to go as far as what to get.

If this is not the case, feel free to chime in.
