Had the dealer do a transmission flush at 69k on my 2013 SFS 2.4L. The next day I notice a hissing noise inside the cabin and AC is not cold. Granted it is cool outside (I’m in AZ, so mid 60’s) but my AC seems to not be working. I hear the hissing sound when I hit the AC button and it stops when I turn the AC button off. Naturally I call the dealer because it wasn’t making this sound before I took the vehicle in for service. During service we did an ECM update recall, oil change, tire rotation and the tranny flush. After bringing the vehicle back to the dealer they say the AC line is leaking at the crimp (rubber to metal) and give me an estimate to replace it just shy of $500. I am asking them for an exemption under the 60k warranty.

My question is that when they are doing the tranny flush, do they come anywhere near this line where they could have bumped it causing this? I am not sure if this is a coincidence or if something happened during the flush that caused this. Any info on the procedure for a tranny flush for this vehicle would help!

They left my dash cam on during the procedure but I couldn’t find anything in there and a couple of files are croupt (ugh). The mechanic did have a couple sets of long needle nose pliers that he rested on the engine bay but the video before where they were placed there would not play ?. It appears they did the whole flush under the vehicle so the rest of the footage was useless.

Thanks

Wanted to see if they were in close proximity but sounds like a coincidence. I am the original owner, regular maintenance at the dealer only. Have a 3rd party warranty that I want to avoid using due to a deductible, especially if this is a common issue.

Just to be clear though this is the refrigerant line not a drain line. It looked like they run down behind the radiator, but I’m not sure where the tranny lines ran.

Go back to dealer, and folow the instructions given in my previous post,, you might could,, or might not win a free A/C repair...

It would have been denied anyway. If you have a service contract that covers the item that service contract takes precedence over any policy adjustment. You would not have a choice over whether you use the contract.....
