With 5 qts of Kia transmission fluid in hand, I asked my Hyundai dealer for the transmission filter for my 2012 Accent GLS. Parts Dept. told me it does not have a tranny filter. Yet I have seen online two part numbers for one for this vehicle.


So, does it really have one, and, if it does, does it need to be changed along with the fluid? It has 85k miles on it.

Apparently the Accent GLS does not have a transmission filter, so I'll just go ahead and change the fluid.

There is filter, but Hyundai consider it permanent... trans has to come out to bench top,, and then split case sections to access.... we not allowed to do internal work at dealer level.. we allowed to remove side pan for valve body and harness

Under the circumstances I will, uhhhh, definitely not be changing mine.

They say good for 40,000 to 50,000 miles. I go 5,000 -8,000 on the first install change it out and the next one on the same fill 25,000 mile maxed after that.
