...Still somewhat new to the Hyundai scene, I've noticed the "YF" and "Y20" symbols pretty often either spoken about or on our Sonata's replacing that Hyundai "H". Can somewhat translate what these symbols mean??? ...inquiry minds wanna know! Thanks...

YF = 2011 ~ 2014?? Sonata (NF = 2006~2010 Sonata)


Y20 = Same as YF but this has 2.0 engine.
This engine is not a GDI or Turbo. Hyundai is not selling Y20 in USA.

It's really just a body type for the Manufacture. This is done so they know what year group of body you are referring to. Almost every car manufacture uses them, GM uses them W body = Gran Prix Ford uses them E series = ecoline van, BMW E46 = 3 series BMW, etc..
