My parents have a Amica and the tracking rod as gone, how much is the parts please and is it covered under warranty.

it depends how old the car is and the mileage, but if it is still under warranty it would be covered. if not the track rod end is cheap and easy to change

jack up the car, remove the road wheel, loosen the locking nut on the track rod, remove the nut on the track rod ball joint (and the split pin if fitted) break the ball joint seal where it fits into the hub assembly with a hammer or ball joint splitter, then unscrew the track rod end from the shaft. refitting is a reversal.

having said that if your not sure what you are doing its worth paying half an hours labour to your local garage as there can be pitfalls (ie siezed nuts etc)
