Hi guys,

I am wondering if my 2007 Hyundai Avante has a timing belt or not? And how to check for that??
And by the way, it's a 4 Valves 1.6L DOHC VVT engine

Thanks in advance.

Wrong cover..

I can see enough to tell that is a quiet chain engine.. the cam cover extends to front of engine, and has aluminum cover, and the plastic intake plenum.

Yes, most if not all the asian Double-OverHead Cam (DOHC) engines use a belt to drive the camshaft. One or two very new ones may be using chains. Most No. Am. cars use chains instead and so they're supposed to be good for a lot longer than belts.
