Hi. Ive got a question ive got a 2011 elantra had it almost 2 years and today it was 32 celcius out and last year i just ignored getti g it refilled. So the car has a a/c button along with an a/c max button it always blew warm air. Today i popped the hood as i watch a youtube video how to check to see if your ac condensor worked.. so popped the hood and i cant find the pulley he talked about. So i looked again and notice there is nothing. Everythi g ac related was not under the hood. Nothing. So what do you think. Someone took everything out or just car never had it to begin with.
I could be wrong, but I doubt that Hyundai (or any car maker today) would include the buttons or switches for AC but not install the actual parts under the hood.
Are you certain you looking in the right area? Was the video you watched for your year car? Perhaps you parts are located somewhere else.
Or perhaps you bought a car that the previous owner had removed the parts for some reason. Do you see any pulleys or other brackets that are missing a belt? Do you have a condenser or any other plumbing for the AC?
As an example, my daughters used 2000 Honda Civic was sold to us without AC. By this I mean the condenser and compressor as well as belt were not in the car. I installed them and had it charged up and it's still working today. (I made the dealer remove the cost of parts and labor from the selling price of the car :grin2
Good luck.
