My 2012 Sonata Hybrid Limited has run down it's battery a few times.
After a bit of Google Fu I found this article on how to reduce battery drain when parked for long periods of time.

"Battery Goes Dead After a Few Days: 5 Steps"

Seems to be an easy theft deterrent, as the car will not start and you cannot unlock the car without the key.

A half an amp draw is a huge amount. I've let my '16 sit for two weeks while away on trips and had zero battery issues. A half-amp draw would have killed it. I'd put the ammeter across the fuse contacts and see how much current you see there. It may just be the way the electronics are on that model but it's still a lot. I'd be concerned at 100ma.

I know I can't remote start the car if it hasn't been started for four days. I always figured that was to shut down the cellular radio and conserve the battery power.
