When I saw the instrument panel of a 2011 Sonata it reminded me of a car my dad drove back in 1970. It was a Chevrolet Constantia, which was a re-badged Australian Holden Premier. I could not find a clear picture of the Constantia's instrument panel but here is a picture of the instrument panel of the Chevrolet Kommando, which was a re-badged Holden Kingswood, a less expensive and about 8 inch shorter version of basically the same car.

Looking for a picture of the "reduced glare" instrument panel of the Kommando/Constantia I noticed how much similar the dimensions of this car were with that of today's Sonata.

I am sure there are other examples like that.

Specification 1969 Chevrolet Kommando 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Width 71.4 72.2 in

Rear Headroom 37.7 37.8 in
Front Legroom 40.9 45.5 in

Rear Hip Room 58.0 54.9 in

For the rest of the car there is absolutely no comparison
