Hi there,
I have a 2014 Santa Fe 2.0 turbo that I bought new. Never had an issue with this until recently. It started with the tailgate locks opening and closing on their own (I could hear, click/click, click/click repeatedly. Then I could not open the tailgate with fob or by pressing unlock in the vehicle or by manually trying to unlock with the fob close by.
a few days later, my back-up camera started glitching (maybe unrelated). Camera is back to normal but still cannot open tailgate.
Anyone know of a DIY fix?

Probably corrosion from a leaking license plate light lens.

Some have done diy camera replacements so a bit further should get you to the latch button. Service manual should also have steps to get to both.

Otherwise it's going to get expensive since this parts are oem only

There is a manual release from the inside of the cargo area. getting it open would at least allow you to make sure nothing was accidentally caught in the latch. You'll have to climb in from the back seat to access the release of course. It is under a snap on trim piece on the liftgate.
