Does anyone know if it's feasible to consider changing the a D4EA diesel engine in a 2002 Santa Fe Crdi to a gasoline engine? I assume that the electrics and computer would also have to be changed, but would there be much involved in changing engine mounts and such to accept the gasoline engine? Transmission connections? I've had it with the diesel version as it seems to have inherent problems with pistons/rings such that it needs a second top overhaul after only 20,000km. Replacement diesel engines are in short supply here (Nicaragua) and I can't guarantee that any replacement won't have the same faults.

Don't even think about. What you are considering is, to say the least, impractical.

It would be easier (and cheaper) to sell the diesel and buy a gasoline-powered Santy instead.
