Everyone, over the past month at times my 2014 Santa Fe engine RPMs will surge from about 12-1500 RPM's when in traffic up to around 3500-4000 RPM's for no apparent reason. It will just surge and then drop back down. The car does not react to it, as it almost seems as if you dropped the the transmission into neutral and gave it gas ( which I do not do ).

I still have about 5,000 miles before my 5 year 60k mile warranty runs out, so I am not too worried about having to spend money on it, so I will be taking it to the dealer. I was just wondering if anyone might know why this is happening so that I will be able to have an educated conversation with the service manager.

Thanks
