If its a new headunit, im amost certain you could. I mean it plays MP3's so it should. I know you said that you didn't know the model number but do you know the brand by chance?

i Believe he is asking if he can install the amp off of the existing head unit in the vehicle. he has chosen the optional MP3 player in his vehicle

More than likely, the answer is "yes". My 2002 Accent's factory Hyundai-branded head unit was really a rebaged Clarion unit that had RCA outputs at the back.

Even if yours doesn't (which is unlikely), you can always run speaker-level leads back to the amp from your rear speakers and drive the subs that way. Not the most elegant solution, but it worked in my on Neon with the factory head unit.
