Please Help! I have a strange noise ONLY while accelerating it's like a ticking noise and it does it both when the engine is cold and warmed up. Also no engine codes. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a video but it won't upload. Dealer can't get me in earlier than November 13.

I"m having a similar issue. Only that my ticking only occurs at 40-50 MPH, with and without pressing the pedal....Once it goes below 40 mph the noise goes away. it's frustrating not to be able to pinpoint what is causing the noise. It's in the front for sure, just don't know where.

If it's only under acceleration it may be an exhaust manifold gasket but they usually get quieter as the engine warms up. Try giving the bolts that hold the manifold to the head a tighten.

UPDATE!

Car threw a code today. P304 and P303 pending. Basically Cinder 4 misfire and a cylinder 3 misfire code pending. I am going to try the spark plugs first then coils after. I will update when I know more tomorrow.

Yup, no change... Replaced spark plugs and coils and still the same issue.

Is the missfire regular or erattic? If it's regular you need to do a compression test. You may have a blown head gasket between the two cylinders.

Okay final update! Took the car to the dealer and it turned out to be an engine knock but Hyundai corporate covered it. It was about a three month process but part of that was service advisor issues.
