I needed to jack up the car to remove the wheels. In the past I have had stock stock jacks that sit on the pinch weld that just totally scrape off all the paint in the surround area. To anyone who has jacked up the car using the stock jack, is this an issue?

I used to have a floor jack, but it was cheap and old and it was starting to leak so I had to trash it. I would rather no get a new one as I only ever used it once every couple years as I get free tire rotations at the local shop and for oil changes I take it in or if I feel like a DIY I used my ramps.

If messing up the pinch weld paint is an issue with the stock jack I may just go get another floor jack and a rubber jack pad...

wood, rubber (make sure the rubber is thick/hard enough to not be cut through...) will work.
Eventually, you might find a different spot to lift the car if using hydraulic jack that will not create this issue...
