Can anyone tell me what is the spare part code for the steering column used on Hyundai Accent cars in North America?

Thanks!

You might have better luck on the 3rd generation fourm.

Have you tried looking online at an autoparts store?
When I look up parts on MICROCAT, I can look pictoral, part number code, part description.... but not by spare part code
Guys, it's gotta be something like this: 56300-IE501, 56300-IE502 and 56300-ON502
But then again, these codes are used in Europe. Not sure about North America.

The point is that I am trying to find something better than what I have now, the reason being that lots of Hyundai Accent owners in Romania have already had their steering columns replaced, for various reasons: noise (i.e. like sand on metal), EPS malfunctioning, car pulls to the right/left.

I don't know if you guys know about the big Hyundai Accent EPS scandal in Chile - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L48jiBQH7ck

So I'm not interested in aftermarket parts just yet, hoping that in America there is an identical/similar original part, made in NOT-China/NOT-Turkey/NOT-Taiwan. I want something "made in USA"

I think those codes were the same for Europe and North America
We don't have EPS in North America, our steering has old fashioned hydraulic assist.  You might not have much luck getting EPS parts here.

The parts number scheme sounds similar though...  Parts for my '06 (stuff that's specific to the model at least) usually end with -1E000.

Gee, I wonder why  Now I feel sorry I didn't get an Accent, when I was in Detroit. I got a Camry instead, although I wanted to try the American Accent (the car, that is :D).

I hear the switched back to hydraulic assist on Accents, in Europe. Duuuuh ... it's about time!

Anyone from Australia, here? What are you guys using? EPS or hydraulic?
