Squeeky Clutch?

Hey guys, just got my accent about 2-3 months ago used. About a week ago I started getting a squeeky clutch pedal. When I depress the pedal, the clutch squeeks from under the hood, not in the cabin. Releasing the clutch is smooth and noise-free.

I've tried lubing the clutch master cylinder assembly, if you will, from under the dash but can't find a place to do it from the engine bay.

Has anyone else had this problem? Its a pretty good squeek and is kind of annoying at stop lights and such. I'm starting to get looks! (and not the good kind).

Other than that Accents rock and I'll keep this until its wheels fall off.

Also, (I'm based in North Dakota) and just installed some Continental extreme contact DWS all condition tires. So far I've done some aggressive driving and manuevers on gravel, packed dirt, wet and dry concrete/asphalt and they make a STUNNING difference in traction. 1 mpg suffer if you can handle it. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

More reports when the snow gets deep. I have high hopes for them

Matt

have you looked to see if its coming from your clutch slave cylinder, (or as HMA service calls it, clutch release cylinder)

Its on the front of your motor, you can see it when you are under the car.

My girlfriend's 2006 Accent GLS had the same exact problem. She brought it to the dealership and the lubed it up and the problem went away for about a week, then it came back. Brought it back the second time and the ended up replacing some sort of part, not sure exactly what. But now the problem seems to have gone away. Her car also had a squeaky steering wheel when she made turns and they had to replaced a part for that as well. Now my 07' accent is starting to develop the same problems with the squeaky steering wheel. I think hyundai should put out a maintenance recall on this.

Does anyone know if even though I am the second owner or the car would a squeaky steering wheel still be covered under warranty?
Try a dab of MOBIL-1 Synthetic grease on the end of the push rod where it sits in the pocket of the release fork..
Hi !
I had the exact same problem with my Accent 06 sedan.
I took it to the dealer 3 times (they lubed something) and finally called Hyundai canada. So they sent a fax to my dealer with all the informations about my problem. I finally had some pieces changed and my clutch is free of noise now !

Same problem for my '07. Dealer fixed it and squeak free for 60K kms
Hey thanks everyone!

I'm going to try to grease those parts (found them under the hood after I posted this at first with the help of a friend). Anyone know of bad damage that can occur if it keeps squeaking? It doesnt seem to be extremely rough but just a bit of a squeak.
