I have the 6 speaker radio. The rear speakers supply stronger bass than the front, but 'muddy' midrange (and obviously no highs). System sounds 'cleaner' faded 1or2 steps to the front. Are the front and rear door speakers identical or are they different? Has anyone replaced their speakers with aftermarket speakers, any recommendations? Any tips on removing the door panels

Can't help with any of your questions, but my "signature" shows where you can get the Shop and ETM manuals which may provide some guidance.

Removing the door panels are fairly easy. The front left and right ones are held in by two screws. At the door handle there is a plastic plate you will need to pull off to reach the screw behind it. Its just pushed in place so you can use a bent paper clip to hook and pull towards the you. Then in the pull pocket there is one under a hinged plastic cover in the shape of a square. Take a little flat tip screw driver and pop it up, but its hinged so don't rip if off. Once you have those two screws out you can use a panel remover tool or something sturdy and flat so not to damage the door panel and at the outside top of the panel and gently pry back on the panel till the plastic retainers pop all along the outer rim of the door panel. Un-clip the electrical connections and your ready. Install in reverse.
For the rear two door panels it is basically the same however there is one more screw on the outside rim of the door panel. Its close to the area of the outside door handle.
