Filename is indeed the default display, so naming each file by song title is the only way to permanently display the title.
As for controlling the order of play, you could probably store each song in its own folder and label the folders in alphanumeric order... a messy solution that would make it painfully slow to scroll through all songs. You could also bookmark up to 20 selections (see page 166 of the owner's manual) as a kind of primitive playlist, but that's only 20 songs and I still don't know if that gives you any control over the order of play. As a last resort, one could probably re-rip the songs into one continuous medley.
