I just returned from a trip to Lake Tahoe, where the the summit of the pass is 7200 ft above sea level and the lake itself is around 6225 ft.

I drove up Interstate 80 from the San Francisco Bay Area with 4 adult passengers and overnight luggage in my SE auto. The passengers all impressed with the overall roominess and no one complained of being too cramped. The car did just fine for the most part as I was cruising between 65 mph and 75 mph at the higher elevations. Granted, I did have to kick down a couple gears and give myself a little more room to pass; but all in all, the Sonata perform admirably given the conditions.

Sounds like a fun trip and that the Sonata did its job. Taking the family to Disney World next year so it is going to be a long road trip.

Nice report. Thanks for posting. There has obviously been some interest in this topic from others about how the car would perform in those conditions.
