We have a 2008 Veracruz Limited, 51,000 miles. the driver's side door button for the smart key lock/unlock function has just stopped working. The pushbutton inside has stopped working. I took apart the door handle to see if I could replace it, but there is no part number on it. I have searched online for the last few hours for this item, but I can't find it anywhere. My question:

Does anyone know where i can get a replacement pushbutton to splice in?
If not, can someone tell me what cars have the smart key door handle button? I might just go to the junk yard this week and try to pick something up.

Thanks in advance!

I suppose you simply push the unlock button on the smartkey.. be a whole lot less $$ and grief trying to make something work..

You could just visit local Hyundai dealer part counter and order new handle too

Right...I know I could push the unlock button on the keyfob, but what's the fun in that?!? I also prefer the DIY route.
The part that's broken is <$2.00 if I could only get to it (soldering iron won't reach). I want to avoid buying the whole handle as it runs almost $200 online, who knows what the dealer wants!
