I decided to replace the suspension on my Sonata 3.3 V6 from 2006 as the parts started to feel worn (degraded grip, too much bouncing, ...). However, I have now begun replacing the rear suspension where something curious appeared. For some reason my car has a small rear spring located inside the inner diameter of the bigger rear spring. I have not been able to find any drawings illustrating this design and no retailers seem to sell these small springs or even the mounts for them.
I hope someone has seen these before and can tell me why they are there and where to get them, if they are still required. I assume it's original OEM parts as the car was purchased from a certified Hyundai dealership back in 2006.
