Dearest Sirs,
I have two 2007 Sonatas, I replace all 8 seized calipers(on both Sonatas) every 2 years. Could you please give me advice what is wrong with the braking systems on this 2 Sonatas?
Thank you very much for your advice.
When you replaced the calipers, did you check the old calipers to see what was wrong with them?
Was the pistons seized due to a lack of oil?
Or was the slide pins frozen?
Was it do to rust build up in the ears of the pads? So they didn't slide?
If the calipers aren't too bad off then they can be reconditioned
Check guide pins and clean and grease as needed
Clean pistons and replace the boot and round square seals
Round to go around the pistons
Square cuz the cross section is square
What you learn from checking out the old calipers can help you decide what you can do
Either to prevent the calipers from failing
Or to decide when to do preventive maintenance
