I finally decided to subscribe to SiriusXM radio to enjoy music on an upcoming road trip. I'm learning new stuff on something I have no prior experience with.

I know satellite reception can be blocked by obvious barriers, such as buildings, bridges, and my car port roof. It also looks like overhanging trees can block the signal too. Is there a way to adjust sensitivity on the satellite receiver so the signal is lost less often, or is this just a characteristic of satellite radio? Does the car radion switch between satellites as it loses signal? Reception in the clear is dropout free.

If you want to learn more than you ever needed, check Wikipedia on "Sirius Satellite Radio". Most of the time ours works without a glitch, but sometimes it will cut out. I do not believe anything can be done to optimize reception.
