Kbdixon was correct, just having FWD did very well on the ice we encountered in central KS. Ended up helping out a spun into the ditch s10 blazer 4wd, called my buddy down the road to bring his full size silverado 4wd and i climbed down in the ditch and hooked up the tow rope to a control arm (no tow hooks). It was flat land, so didnt get to test SFS ability on much of any hills though.

I have a 2016 Santa Fe. No problems with the engine so far.

Some of the issues I've encountered with the car in the past 2 and a half years:

- AWD drive warning light kept coming on, turned out to be a corroded wiring harness and was replaced under warranty
- Front passenger side wheel bearing had to be replaced - covered under warranty
- Loud knocking noise coming from front driver side area, turned out to be faulty steering column - covered under warranty
