Hi All,
My 2005 Santa 2.0crtd is sick, the timing belt has jumped a couple of notches and it looks like the valves have collided with the pistons. Half of the rockers on number one and two are smashed and three has a cracked rocker. Does anyone know if it is safe to change just the rockers or is there likely to be further damage to the cylinder head/vales/pistons etc?? All valves are the same height when measured with the camshaft out so don't appear to be bent.

I would take off the cylinder head to internally inspect for maybe broken of pieces of the valves, valve seats, chips of the pistons, smooth motion of the valves.
Maybe you were lucky and nothing has broken of or has been chipped.
The cylinder head could be ok because it is used to explosions inside.
Also check the camshaft itself for smooth, straight running because it was subject to some false pushes.
And get a new timing belt and tension wheels.
Good luck,
Paul
