Hi all,

My new i10 1.25 Kappa arrived few days ago. Just noticed that the bolt(?) behind the front disc brakes are rusty. Should I be worried about this?

no, a light coating of rust on parts under the car that are uncoated (notice the frame/underside has a rubberized coating) is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

steel rusts. its a fact of life. the sky is blue also.

a light coating of rust can actually protect the part from further rust beneath it.

Thanks. I thought the car had been sitting for too long at the dealers that rain water has corroded the parts.

No, I will say that you don't have to worry much about this point. Actually this type of problem may occur when the car gets in touch with water. But the corrosion on this nut bolt is just in its prelim stage which can easily be overpowered. You should apply some lubricant on this nut after removing this corrosion by rubbing it with a sand paper. Regular Lubrication to the auto-parts not only protect them from corrosion, but also enhance their life.
