Reach up behind the starter and find the Crank Position Sensor pigtail at the sensor body... roll it between your forefinger and thumb..

Is the jacket all cracked and crumbling ??

2004 Santa Fe 2.7: I don't know if my problem is the same...... yesterday and I barely made it home when the engine quit.

It's already cost me over $600 and I still have the problem. The mechanics are trying their best, but at this point I feel they're guessing. Ok, you professional or backyard mechanics out there! Please HELP!
Your help lies within post #5 and Post #7 above.. wait till engine is cold, as you have to slide your arm right beside the exhaust manifold/catalyst and behind the starter to reach in there..
