My 2009 Sonata has developed a 'rubbing' sound that seems to be coming from the right rear wheel. The brakes are new, the rotors are fine, there are no marks on the tire or wheel. This sound only shows up when I apply the brakes and generally at slowing speeds. If I press the brake pedal down hard the sound doesn't emit. We have checked suspension, brakes, rotors, tire and wheel. Ideas??

Bearing in that wheel or the parking brake shoes? Try jacking it up and spinning the tire to see if it does it just spinning freely

Thanks for the feedback. I did jack it up and spin the wheel as suggested. The sound is not there. It appears only when braking slowly. A hard pedal press stops the sound. At times the sound continues a few seconds after releasing the brake pedal. I was not aware there were separate shoes for the parking brakes. That could be the problem since the sound was never there until we had the rear disks replaced.
