The Canadian versions of the Tucson do not have TMPS. So I was wondering if anyone would have any thoughts on if it is possible to retrofit the factory sensors onto these cars. I would imagine that it would require:

- 4 factory sensors.
- The ability to enable the functionality for the car to monitor the sensors. I'm guessing that's in the BCM.

Any thoughts on this or am I completely out to lunch?

While it might be possible, generally, I don't think it would be an easy way to go about adding tpms, and definitely not cheap. Remember the air pressure readings are displayed in the cluster, so you'd probably have to buy a new cluster that showed the tpms stuff (but not available in Canadian cars? So what would you use and would it even be compatible with the rest of the systems?), and then whatever other systems are used by the tpms system... it's just not feasible.

Your best option would be to use an aftermarket tpms system... there's options with actual tpms sensors mounted inside the tires like normal, and then just addon valve stem caps that read the pressure...

eBay actually has a category for them to get some ideas... Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring System | eBay

You could always go the aftermarket route.

There are different types that plug into the lighter port.

Okay... So I'll go the aftermarket route. But the best route is to do internal sensors. I'll browse Amazon to see what they have unless anyone has some recommendations on a system that they trust?
