Obtained this from another forum.
Tried it on my I40 to clear a frozen screen and it worked.
To reset media/sat nav units in Australian I40s which do not have a reset button proceed as follows.

Turn unit on
Simultaneously hold down Cd eject button and power/volume knob (on left of unit) while turning volume knob to lowest setting (anti clockwise)
Unit will turn off.
Turn unit on again.

Further to the above local dealer applied a firmware update to the unit to fix freezing problem.

One of the new features of this update is that you can have the clock display while navigating which you were unable to do previously.

IX35 screen frozen

My IX35 screen was frozen on a reversing camera picture. I could not turn the display off with the volume knob or by turning the car on and off. I tried the volume knob and eject button procedure and up came the Hyundai screen. I could then turn off the display.
