Yep you can replace the DRL with a Halogen bulb if you want the white HID look without loosing highbeams. For example Putco has some lights in cool white so about 5000k, nitro blue 6000k and 4300k temps. They are just like Halogen bulbs so you don't loose any functions. Pretty much they are halogen bulbs with tinted glass to give it that color. Life expectancy is unknown though. For example the Silverstar Ultra is supposed to give you the white look but they last like a year only, so hopefully the Putco's last a bit longer. I have ordered the Nitro Blue to replace the LED's I got just cause the LEDs have been having issues with loose connection. They haven't made it yet.
I have 8000k HIDs in my low beams and its really annoying me how i turn on my highs and its two different colors. Do you think if i run to my local auto part store like a PEP BOYS or something i can get just a replacement bulb to go in the DRL/high beams to sort of match the color as best i can?

Absolutely; it's going to match a lot better for sure. All those 'hyperwhite' type bulbs have over a regular bulb is just a coating that when bulb is energized they resemble the color temperature advertised. HP Thunders make them in 8K, and they're like $20 per pair.
thanks alot. I went to the store today and bought them but i got the wrong ones by accident. haha. Im going to look into those HP Thunders, $20 a pair isnt a bad price i paid $32 for the wrong ones haha.

http://www.hidlightsusa.com/shopping.asp?c...8500k&sc=H7

this place has H7 headlights in 8500k color 7500k color and 3000k color. But because they are not HID i dont think they will be terribly blue if you guys dont want that. They describe their lights as "white" so well see. They are only charging 13.98. I dont know about shipping i havent got that far yet but they ship from GA so anyone in the states shouldnt be too much.

Im ordering them probably tomorrow so i will try and post and tell what i found and what i think about them, ill try for pics as well

As soon as I am happy with my 4500K 35W HID setup I am going to order a pair of H7 Extreme Whites from PIAA to match the color (when switching between high and low beams) Gut feel is that the life time should be longer when using them as DRLs, but that ius only a gut feel.
Yea i have 8000k HIDs so they are more blue then your HIDs. The problem is idk if i can find regular "imitation" HID bulbs to match that blue of my low beams.
