Hey All,

I replaced my 2.7 6 cylinder 2005 body control module, ignition switch and immobilizer (Canadian thing) from a 2007 2.0 4 cylinder running vehicle. All parts are known to be good.

I insert the key and the fuel pump can be heard, the engine cranks but no start. Grabbed a odb2 code reader and cannot connect to the ecm.

I thought these components (bcm/ignition/immobilizer) are interchangeable. Any Idea what I am doing wrong.

How about the ignition keys from the other car, do you have them?

Keys are programmed I believe to match imobilizer.

The immobilizer reads the key in the ignition.
If it matches the information in the immobilizer then a signal is sent to the ECU to let the engine start.
Switching immobilizer can be done when the immobilizer is programmed for the new key

Not sure whether it has to be done by the dealer or not.
