what do you use to engage it? do you carry a add on remote?
Yes, I have a tiny xtra remote to carry with the car remote. It starts stops, lock/unlocks and opens trunk. If I use the remote to start the car then I have to use the same remote to unlock the car. Just hit the break to engage the car and good to go, very good integration with the push start...

Joeeey is on a sacred quest to find someone with an integrated type remote start system that does not cripple the proximity system on our cars

Im actually searching for the same thing my self. I got as far as using the factory remote lock or unlock button 3 times to start the car, but it still cripples the proximity system. So either I would have a car that's running unlocked and vulnerable to thief's, or a locked car that i need to use my key to get into manually...

Back to the schematics for the proximity system....

LOL this is my white elephant. I will not rest until I find her. I know she out there somewhere~~
If you do find it please let me know. I went as far as googling canadian dealerships to see if they had any OEM starters that might be compatible since I read somewhere here that Canada has a OEM remote with an extra button for remote start that also has the proximity sensors. Still no luck!

I did not. Just checked websites for dealer installed options. Checked hyundai canada's website to see if it was truly an OEM option. I didn't see reference to it anywhere. Even had a space to build your car just like the US site and it wasn't there so I just figured whoever it was that thought Canada had that option was wrong.
