Hello! I have lost my second set of keys and am concerned that they could get into the wrong hands. I had a quote from my local hyundai dealer for a new igiiton cylinder master set, labour to install new locks and reprogram all keys to come in at almost $900. Wondering if there may be any other (less expensive) options that I could do so that the lost keys couldn't be used. Thanks for any advice/suggestions!
Could the keys perhaps have been stolen rather than lost? Would your insurance not cover the cost of replacement locks if the keys had been stolen? Just a thought.
If I helped you fix it, why not... Your support is greatly appreciated
What if the immobiliser keys were erased from the system, get a new key fob, re-learn those two? They could open the car but should not be able to start it
Perhaps you are worrying too much. If you are so worried about theft, just check / upgrade your insurance deductible and enjoy life. Keys are LOST all the time but rarely stolen. $900 blown on new keys is crazy.
