The rear driver window in my 2006 is stuck in the down position. How do I get it up to get the regulator off? I've already searched YouTube and came up enty handed. I have the door panel off, but cannot get the regulator panel off du to the window being down.

The cables aren't broken. I think one of the clips broke that helps move it up and down. The motor runs but I cannot get the regulator panel off due to the window still being attached to the piece that moves the window up and down. I've replaced parts for this kind of problem, but never encountered anything like this before. Huge design flaw.

If the motor runs but isn't moving the glass that usually means either the regulator cable is broken or the motor drive is. In either case you should be able to lift the glass up by hand. Have you removed the motor and tried to lift the glass?

I got the glass up finally ?? Now it's a matter of getting the regulator off the door. I unscrewed the bolt through the hole. I saw a video that said to pry the regulator off the door after unscrewing the bolts and then to lift it up. I've done that and I still can't get it off.

Have you removed the exterior door handle and the handle bearing bracket. I also removed the door lock/latch securing screws and withdraw the latch assembly along with the regulator panel. Although I must confess to never having replaced a Sonata regulator, but I've done plenty on VWs which are very similar.

That's maybe why your struggling.

If you ask @wongpfh nicely he might be able to post the regulator removal procedure from the workshop manual. That should at least confirm what needs to be removed to get the regulator off.
Unfortunately the shop manual provides removal instructions for the glass only, but not for the regulator removal, I doubted this is going to be any help, sorry!

WHAT!

So the factory manual doesn't tell you how to remove the "door module", AKA..window regulator?

That's very disappointing, but thanks for taking the time to look it up anyway.

Sorry, I did not know that "Door Module" AKA "Window Regulator", thanks.
Yes, the shop manual does provide simple instructions to remove the door module, like I said before it's no help at all.

I know it's three years later but how did you get the glass unstuck? I'm in the same situation and I can't get my window to raise. I can't see inside the regulator to figure out what is catching.
