6500 miles on the clock i10 style, and now getting clonck clonck noise from rear suspension when going over ridges such as you find on pavements where a lowered section of kerb is installed at the entrance to a driveway. These kerbs are usually only about 5 centimetres high but the noises coming from the rear suspension makes you think somethings loose somewhere. Have checked rear shocks top and bottom mounts but all seems ok there. A friend suggested it might be an internal problem in the shock absorbers. Anyone else had same problem?

Yes - since new - still under 1000 miles I10 style. But with the other problems (two new clutches and a new rear window) I haven't had the inclination to go back to the dealer yet - I thought I'd "roll it up" with something else when I have to go back again - probably for the whining/moaning noise from the OSR brake when pulling away after stopping. I have had everything out of the boot and it's still there - it's a thumping noise which could be damper related. I note that the tailgate seems very easy to close and open and wonder if it's that - i.e. the latch may require adjustment to hold it tighter. There are periods when it goes away - which will inevitably be when it does go in to the dealers.
