Hi. Both of my rear number plate bulbs need replacing. I can lever out the bulb casing but it will only come out so far before the hatchback lid trim gets in the way. Any ideas?

I've never done any work on an ix20, but on other Hyundai models you don't remove the bulb casings to access the number plate light bulbs. You remove the tailgate trim and remove the bulb holders from the inside the tailgate.

Hi Autospark. Four screws and four clips and a lot of brute force and the tailgate trim came off giving easy access to the two bulbs. All done, thanks again! Mike

Hi Mike. Thanks for taking the time to post back and confirm that's how it's supposed to be done. I'm sure the next ix20 owner with a blown bulb will appreciate that.
