On the rear brakes, each caliper rides on two slide pins.

One pin has a groove, and one does not.

Does the grooved pin go on top or bottom?

You mean the slide has a channel in it like for a key?

I think the pin that with the groove goes to the bottom of caliper. Sometimes they may worn out, if it's too tight you should replace it

It is a square cut channel for lubricant
It has to go in the end that has the square it slides on. Should be obvious unless it's been worn down.
