I have searched read all respective threads on this topic here on the forums and would like to revisit it to see what others feel about these units.

Mainly I am concerned with those of you who have the Infinity sound system installed as I do too and from what I am reading there is some modification needed to use one of these China units in a car with the Infinity system.

Please post your thoughts.

I beg to differ as I posted I am concerned with placing one in a car with the Infinity system in it which is specific to the Sonatas (yes other cars may have an infinity system as well). As I understand it these units will not work on the Infinity systems without modifications. Otherwise you are stuck bad sound and hissing as I am now with a Pioneer deck I am using.

Why wouldn't you upgrade to a Alpin, Kenwood, or Pioneer system.

I upgraded to a Pioneer AVH system (posted pictures too in another thread) and it sounds a thousand times better. I have a 2007 Limited with the infinity system.

I did move to an Pioneer Premier Avic F90BT and now I am stuck with hissing sounds (only fix for that according to 3 different shops is to tear out the infinity stuff and put in new) and **** poor steering wheel controls (yes I have a PAC interface installed in the car).

Do I like the unit overall ... yes it is nice having GPS, DVD, IPOD control in one unit. But it is slow to respond (yes it has gotten better since initial release) the GPS portion is ok (has some things I don't like) and my BT personally sucks mud puddles.

Steering Wheel controls are important to me and I do not have full functioning - even the PAC people say it cannot be done with the Pioneer decks.

The hissing sound is annoying as **** but I have been forced to live with it or spend more money on an amp and rewiring the the car to bypass the infinity system.


Lastly I would LOVE to have Alpine as that is what I have always used but I cannot afford to drop 1k+ on their gear and possibly still have the same issues.

Also having something stock in appearance there is less of a chance of theft. If some crook sees Pioneer or Alpine on the unit there is a good bet they think it's worth a bunch and bang it's gone. I do not live in a high crime area but there have been a few "crews" busted around my neighborhood in the last few months.
