I've been lurking in one of the Genesis forums and see that some Genesis' come with a Proximity Key Card, in addition to the Key Fobs. Owners can also purchase Key Cards for their G80 and have them programmed for their car.

I wonder if anyone purchased one, and got it programmed like a regular Key Fob for a Sonata?

I think I'm going to ask my Servicing Dealer when I go for an oil change soon.

On a trip to Europe a few years ago, I had a Renault Laguna II that had this, and I loved it.

I don't know about key cards and dealer options, but K5 optima has a can bus control module for the Sonatas that does this, as well as remote start and tons of other cools features. It uses the factory key fob for everything. If the dealer cant help you out look into it. I installed mine myself in a weekend and it's pretty easy, any radio/remote start installer should be able to do it for you if you don't feel up to the task.
