So I was thinking that the NF is starting to get some age on her and starting a thread specifically for the some of the problems we have had with our Sonata's would be a good idea. Nothing to in-depth. Something we can sticky as a quick reference. When posting list the following:

Year, Engine and model. (2006, 3.3, GLS)
Mileage at Which Problem Started
Problem/Issue
Fix
Approximate $$ Cost
Notes
Link to thread (if any)

Only problems I've had were the sun visors. Replaced the passenger side a couple weeks ago (out of warranty), looks like the driver side may need to be replaced as well.
All other repairs have been wheel/tire related (Pittsburgh potholes)

Notes:
Changing struts and springs is DIY if you have a friend and a spring compressor - if you strip a stud, be ready to cut a lil slit off the brake dust shield, unless you want to pry off the entire hub and replace bearings.

Pin hole rust thru on brake line (Maryland, not rust belt)
Took to non-dealer mechanic, spliced new OEM line in
$89 part and $220 labor
The dealer wanted about $1000 to try and make a new line, $700 to splce new section. I walked over to their parts counter and ordered a new front line for $89. Was going to replace myself but too difficult w/o a lift. I was told to replace a full length lines you need to raise engine (to get lines to master cyl) and also drop fuel tank for rear. Just have it spliced if possible.

Check engine light/Trans slipping
Repaired (replaced trans) under 100k warranty
$0
Light came on while on a trip. Dealer in Ohio read codes and told me to take it in to servicing dealer when I returned home. The dealer I bought it from said they did not see any codes, so I had the other dealer call them. Be persistent!

No cranking, had electrical
Replace starter, then battery
I think about $650 at dealer
I've had this happen on both this vehicle and to a greater extent (other issues) on an 04 Santa Fe 3.5l. Starter locks up when it goes bad/burns out, and battery needs replaced at the same time. Not sure if older/weak battery caused the failure or it just was time to replace when the starter failed.

Problem/Issue - Left side trunk shock
Fix - Broke last night (6/15/12) Nothing yet.
Approximate $$ Cost - Wondering if its under warranty, haven't had the chance to call yet. And if not if it would be cheaper to DIY or pay to get it done. (AKA~wondering if any speical tool needed would make it cheaper to get done by a pro or buying the right tools)
