trying to do some digging for my boss , he owns a 2008 tucson limited with awd , he explained to me that he was slowing down to merge onto a dual carriageway , and as he shifted down a gear he heard a loud clunk from the rear of the vehicle and he explained that the tyres seemed to be dragging as he changed down , he was in normal driving mode and not in awd could anyone shed some light as to where to start , TIA

As you may aware although the Tucson has disc brakes all round the hand brake operates on a set of shoes inside small rear brake drums within the brake discs (if it is the same as the UK model) i would check the operation of them, it may also be worth checking the prop (drive) shaft rubber coupling.
