Hi Guys,

We have a 2003 2.0 CRDi Diesel (not that it has any bearing on the problem i have) :)

The childlocks seem to be stuck in the on position on both sides.

We also have problems with the central locking not working but I would'int imagine that would be causing this issue?

I've searched the forum and have not found anyone with a childlock problem so any help would be great!!

Can you still get in from outside?
Had a similar problem with a renault and what you will have to do is take off the door trim firstly look to see if any cables are loose if not then carefully get an arm into the door cavity and up to the lock and try to manipulate the mechanism to the off position.
Hope these photo's help see attachments.

hi itza,

i downloaded the trajet manual and had this pics since after i posted the first post.

i stripped down the two rear passenger doors and found the problem...

the cable on one door has become worn and kinks back on itself when the child locks are on or if you try to pull the handle to open the door when the main lock is turned on.

i just pushed the slack back down the sleeve of the cable and i was able to open the childlock :)

the other door has a the same cable snapped! this looks like an advanced stage of the same problem and the first doors cable has already one thread on the cable broken off.

do you think i will have to get new locks?

or can i just get a new cable??

cheers,

p.
