I was hoping to see pricing in the low to mid $50's. While the Equus looks like an amazing car and comes with many features, I don't know that Hyundai can convince enough buyers to buy them. I think when people are spending this kind of money on a car, most of them care about the badge the car has. I hope I am wrong and the Equus sells well. We found out a couple weeks ago we are one of the dealers getting them and we expect it sometime in late November.

I think $58k is too high when for $65k you can get the superior (IMO) LS460. A 6-speed auto in a car costing nearly 60 grand is not that impressive, when BMW & Lexus have offered 8-speeds for years, and Mercedes has had a 7-speed for 6 years now. The LS460 also has more power, and the 19-speaker Mark Levinson sound system in the LS is unrivalled and said to be the best in the industry. The Lexus resale is also far superior so even though it cost $7k more new, you'll be better off when it comes time to sell.

I definitely agree with you. I don't really care for MB's or BMW's but I would definitely compare the the LS to Equus before purchase. I'm a big fan of Lexus vehicles, so it would be a very tough decision. I read on edmunds.com blogs that many people are saying the Equus looks too much like the Genesis.

I know hyundai doesn't expect to sell many, but at that price it will very tough.
